From the new landmark research study recently released from Six Disciplines, and detailed in this 30-page research paper, “7 Key Findings About What Employees Say Drives Performance and Engagement“, survey results find that getting strategy right – and executing on that strategy – are the toughest areas for CEOs to implement

Employees believe getting strategy ‘right’ (strategic vision / clarity of purpose) is the most difficult to achieve. And while organizational strategy is led by just a few people at the top, it needs to be understood by everyone in the organization.

Yet, a clear strategy is not enough – it has to be effective. Continuous improvement, unlike strategy, is driven from the bottom up, and should be led and implemented by everyone in the organization.

Execution management was ranked the third most difficult. It requires relentless, on-the-ground action that affects
every person, every minute of every day.
